"It's not so good, it's so good" is the most repeated phrase in Graf's new song "Burnout". It's a surprising blend of pop, country and blues with a jazzy wink. The music and arrangement are by Graffa, with maestro Zhivko Petrov joining in on the jazz part. The lyrics were written in collaboration with Yordan Zhechev.
After so many years on stage, Graf is once again stepping out of his comfort zone and taking bold steps forward, experimenting on new musical horizons.
The track and its impressive video are recognized by many of Graf's fans, who comment actively on social networks and platforms "The lyrics describe real life, the video is world-class", says a YouTube user, while another adds - "The anthem of the working man, Graf is simply unique".
The idea for the song comes from the friendship and support of the people in the neighborhood, their crafts and businesses, the warm and casual atmosphere of Old Sofia. The serious topic of the Burnout condition and stress is presented radiantly and with a smile, and the solution lies precisely in living as a community and in understanding.
The theme inspires the talented young director Svilen Slavov and cinematographer Viktor Dobrev to create an unconventional, different and dynamic video. In the beginning we see the rugby players from Balkan Cats and Graf, who also shows himself as a convincing actor after the aggressively asked question "Graf, do you have a ballad?". The pictures in the video change quickly and dynamically, it is rich in characters and playful moments, a lot of humour and self-irony. There are craftsmen, citizens, musicians, representatives of animal species - roosters, ponies, including Mr. Burnout himself, played by Yordan Zhechev, and the unifying link is Graf. Behind all this diversity, the depth of the theme that concerns a huge part of modern society shines through - the constant stress and overwork that can only be cured by friendship, humanity and healthy relationships.
The fans have already named the song the hit of summer 2024, and the lucky ones in Sofia (26 June, Kabana Cinema), Stara Zagora (28 June, Summer Theatre), Ruse (18 July, Summer Theatre), Varna (28 July, Summer Theatre), Burgas (30 July, Summer Theatre) and Plovdiv (11 August, Antique Theatre) will watch it live and sing it together with their favorite singer. "The Happiest Tour" will present music lovers with an incredible musical show and production based on the successful concert of Graf at the National Theatre "Vasil Levski" with the support of ProCredit Bank.
On 24 May the ceremony of the "Asker" awards will be held, where Grafa is nominated in the category "Theatre Music" for the box office performance of the Youth Theatre - "Pippi Longstocking".
